Pedro Pascal to play a queer gunslinging cowboy in Strange Way of Life
The year 2023 has been especially fruitful for renowned actor Pedro Pascal. Beginning the year with a bang in HBO’s The Last of Us, the Game of Thrones alum’s performance as Joel has been highly praised by both the fans and the critics. Pascal’s new role will now be taking him to the wild west, where he will be playing a gay cowboy opposite Ethan Hawke.
What is Strange Way of Life about?
The synopsis, as described by director Pedro Almodóvar, says, “A man rides a horse across the desert that separates him from Bitter Creek. He comes to visit Sheriff Jake. Twenty-five years earlier, both the sheriff and Silva, the rancher who rides out to meet him, worked together as hired gunmen. Silva visits him with the excuse of reuniting with his friend from his youth, and they do indeed celebrate their meeting, but the next morning Sheriff Jake tells him that the reason for his trip is not to go down the memory lane of their old friendship.”
What role is Pedro Pascal playing in Strange Way of Life?
Pascal will play the role of Silva, who rides a horse across the desert to visit his friend Sheriff Jake and shares a romantic history with him. Sheriff Jake is played by Moon Knight star Ethan Hawke.
When will Strange Way of Life release?
Strange Way of Life will first premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in May 2023. Later on, the film will be distributed by MUBI in Italy and Latin America, and in the UK under Pathé.
