Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon’s biggest competitor is Amazon’s The Lord of The Rings series: The Rings of Power. Though House of The Dragon outshined Rings of Power in multiple award shows, fans are eagerly looking forward to watching the second season of both the series. Rings of Power has multiple Game of Thrones actors in it, the latest one to join has been revealed to be Ciarán Hinds.

Who recently joined the cast of Rings of Power?

Along with Ciarán Hinds, Amazon also announced on Monday that Rory Kinnear (Black Mirror) and Tanya Moodie (Empire of Light) will be joining the cast of Rings of Power. Their roles are yet undisclosed, but will be revealed in near future. Hinds is also the first Oscar-nominated actor to join The Rings of Power.

Who did Ciarán Hinds play on Game of Thrones?

Hinds played Mance Rayder, the leader of the Free Folk, holding the title of “King-Beyond-the-Wall”. He was once a noted ranger of the Night’s Watch. He was actually born a wildling and is proud of his lineage, but as an infant, he was left at one of the castles on the Wall to be raised in the Night’s Watch. As a young man, he deserted his post and fled north of the Wall to join the wildlings.

When will The Lords of The Rings: The Rings of Power return?

There has been no official announcement yet about the release date, but it is expected that an eight-episode second season will premiere in 2024 on the streaming service Amazon Prime Video.
