Jonathan Pryce (High Sparrow) compares working on The Crown with Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones remains the most successful show to have ever been filmed on television. It set the bar for television filming really high, with record viewership and budget. The fantasy series still holds the record for the most number of Emmy Awards won. The cast of the show is highly decorated as well. Jonathan Pryce, who played High Sparrow in Game of Thrones, has won several awards and accolades for his roles in the acting sphere, and was even awarded a knighthood for his contributions to the film industry.
Pryce recently filmed the fifth season of the popular TV series The Crown, and compared it with his time on Game of Thrones. He told Digital Spy, “The closest that I can [compare this to], I was joining Game of Thrones in season 5. I came late to this huge worldwide megahit. And I expected the cast, the crew, and everyone to be rather cynical, because they had this hit on their hands. But far from it.”
He added, “They were determined to make it the best they could, still. And it was the same experience coming onto The Crown in season 5. I think that’s what I’ll do in the future. I’ll just wait for a season 5. I’ll see how Coronation Street works out, and if it becomes a hit, I’ll join it.”
