George R. R. Martin wishes he could fly a dragon to the Kremlin in Russia to avoid nuclear war
George R. R. Martin is the author of the hugely popular series A Song of Ice and Fire, on which Game of Thrones is based. Another one of his books, Fire & Blood, has been adapted into a successful TV series, House of the Dragon. He released another book based on Targaryen history, The Rise of the Dragon. He went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his new book, where he said, “I wish I had a dragon, I could fly it to the Kremlin. “
Their interview features a lengthy and insightful conversation about the future of the human race. The American author describes how he lived through the first threat of nuclear war during the cold war and how now, the nuclear threat from Russia is back. “What are we gonna do if Putin does use nuclear bombs? What do we want to do? I wish I had a dragon, I could fly it to the Kremlin.”
The Kremlin is the Red Keep of Russia. It is a fortified ‘city within a city,’ where the President of Russia officially resides. With him wanting to take a dragon to the Kremlin, it looks like Martin intends to pull a season 8 Daenerys move.
