Legendary Bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman praises Game of Thrones’ Hafthor Bjornsson
Game of Thrones has had a lot of iconic characters over the years, but if we’re speaking in terms of physical strength, The Mountain wins without a doubt. Snapping back to the real world, the actor who plays The Mountain, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, is a strongman himself. Bjornsson recently defeated his long-time rival Eddie Hall in the World’s Heaviest Boxing match, and has been in the news for quite some time since then.
Bjornsson has a lot of admirers, that includes Dwayne Johnson and legendary bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman. Coleman recently appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast and was in awe of the Game of Thrones star’s lifting capabilities. He said, “Like this guy, I can’t remember his name, but he deadlifted 1100 pounds.”
Joe reminded him of the name as he said, “that Game of Thrones guy, The Mountain.” That’s when Coleman said, “Yeah, that’s a gift, you know, that’s talent. Yeah, he’s gifted, everybody can’t do that. I did 800, you know, for a couple of reps, but I don’t think I can do 1100. That’s a lot of weight.”
Coming from one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, this is a compliment worthy of Bjornsson. After his win over Eddie Hall, Bjornsson is looking forward to expanding his career in boxing. Would you like to see him box again? Tell us in the comments below!
