Game of Thrones actress was left with bruises while filming her death scene in Season 2

Game of Thrones has had a ton of deaths, but there’s no saying which was the best. However, there was a lot that took place behind and in front of the camera to make these scenes look credible. Some actors often took a step further to make their performance look more believable, often hurting themselves in the process. One such talent was Amrita Acharia, who some of you might remember as the actress who played Daenerys Targaryen’s handmaid, Irri. She was left with bruises while filming her final scene.
Irri was murdered in season two of the show by another handmaid, Doreah (played by Roxanne McKee). In an unearthed interview with The Independent, she revealed, “I think it’s hard to be strangled on screen because to make it look real, you really have to be a bit strangled. I said to Roxanne, ‘Just go for it’.”
“She doesn’t die in the books and she does in the series, but I had two seasons which I think is a pretty good run,” said Acharia. “It was the year I came out of drama school in London, so it was a great lesson in acting and working on screen. Yeah, but I go, ‘It’s an adaptation,’ so it can’t fit everything in. You can’t please everyone and you can’t really complain, Game of Thrones has amazing storylines, amazing characters, awesome actors and dragons, so you’re kind of winning.”
HBO did take great precautions while filming the show, however, accidents do happen. Hopefully, we’ll get to see less of that in House of The Dragon!
