Nikolaj Coster-Waldau talks about the perfect death for Jaime Lannister and more

Game of Thrones has a lot of great characters, and the most striking thing about the show is how it isn’t all black and white. A lot of characters we initially hated, we like now, while some characters we really liked at the beginning, are starting to seem not so nice now. One such characters is Jaime Lannister. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the role of Jaime Lannister, recently talked about how he would like to see Jaime pass, and more. Read on!

Nikolaj was at the Argentina Comic Con recently, and as you would expect, he was made to sit down and talk about Game of Thrones. Watch the video of the interview, below :

Well, first off, Nikolaj’s response to the question about Jaime’s perfect death, was death by old age. However, he had something to say about Jaime’s last words :

“..and then the last thing he says is, like, ‘Brienne, I always loved you.’”

However, he seems to have given the idea of Jaime’s death, a fair bit of thought. Talking about it a bit more seriously, Nikolaj said :

“If he had to go, I think, you know, it seems to me that, if you look at the whole show, fire is a big part of Jaime’s story, so I think he’s gonna get burned to a tiny little crisp bit of bacon by a dragon.”

Hmm, interesting.

Talking about the early moment which had everybody hating Jaime Lannister for a long time, Nikolaj said that he saw it a little differently, even back then. Talking about Jaime’s decision to push Bran Stark out of the window, back in Season 1, Nikolaj said :

“I never saw him as a villain. And I don’t think he was a villain when he tried to kill Bran…I’m not saying it’s a good thing…I saw him making a very brutal decision based on facts. The facts were if this kid tells anyone what he just saw, my sister, probably myself, all the children are gonna get killed. So it’s us or him.”

We guess he’s got a point! What do you think? Do you like the fact that Game of Thrones paints most its characters in the moral grey area? Tell us in the comments, down below!
