About 200 years before the events of the main series, the Targaryens and their dragons were ruling Westeros, in the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon. The first season told the story of how the Targaryens, the reigning house of Westeros, went to fight with one another, plunging the realm into a bloody war. There are still a ton of characters to come, even though a few significant ones were already introduced.

House of the Dragon Season 2 to introduce Ser Rickard Thorne

Like its predecessor, House of the Dragon has brought together a prestigious group of professionals from the film business. Not too long ago, it was revealed that One Piece actor Vincent Regan has joined House of the Dragon. A new theory by Redaninan Intelligence suggests Regan might’ve been roped in to play Ser Rickard Thorne, Alliser Thorne’s ancestor.

Who is Ser Rickard Thorne?

During the reigns of Viserys I and Aegon II Targaryen, Rickard Thorne, a knight from House Thorne, served in the Kingsguard. In the ensuing civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, which followed the death of King Viserys I Targaryen, Rickard chose to support King Aegon II Targaryen and the greens. Rickard Thorne is expected to appear in House of the Dragon Season 2.
