Ulf White, a new character in House of the Dragon, is a charming addition to the roster of dragonseeds in season 2. Known for his deceptive nature, there’s doubt about his true lineage as a Targaryen bastard. Yet, he claims the dragon Silverwing, suggesting he has Valyrian blood.

Tom Bennett, who portrays Ulf White in Season 2, shared an interesting fact in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He revealed that he had previously auditioned for a role in Game of Thrones.

Tom Bennett has impressed viewers with his portrayal of Ulf White. He brings out the character’s cunning and deceitful traits while still remaining lovable and endearing. Ulf White is unique and driven by motivations different from those of other characters.

Although he supports Rhaenyra as the rightful heir, he is cautious around Green loyalists, as seen when Aegon enters the tavern known as the Cocks Inn. Unlike other dragonseeds who willingly went to Dragonstone, Ulf was persuaded by his friends and drinking buddies.

In the interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bennett was asked about his previous auditions in the Game of Thrones universe. He revealed that he once auditioned for a small part, saying:

“I’ve only had one. I had one Game of Thrones audition, maybe [season] three? I auditioned to play a comedy guard, having a piss, and then he gets eaten by a direwolf. It was a good scene, but it was one scene, and now I’m flying a dragon. It’s a good thing I didn’t get it, because maybe now I wouldn’t be Ulf.”
