The Wheel of Time writer Brandon Sanderson was jealous when George R. R. Martin got to work on Elden Ring
Game of Thrones writer George R. R. Martin is one of the most accomplished novelists today, with some of the best-selling books under his belt. The veteran author is already associated with a bunch of new shows, including Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon. Martin has also made his mark in the gaming industry with the critically acclaimed video game Elden Ring, which has created quite a buzz on the internet and is currently one of the most-played gaming titles over various platforms. However, Brandon Sanderson, the writer who completed The Wheel of Time novels after the death of the original author Robert Jordan, is quite salty over the fact Martin got the job instead of him.
Sanderson jokingly states that he is annoyed because Martin doesn’t even like video games, while he is an avid gamer. In a recent episode of the Intentionally Blank podcast, he said, “Let me be salty, FromSoftware decides to make a fantasy game and partner with a fantasy novelist, and they choose someone who spends his days blogging about the NFL rather than the person who has played their games since King’s Field and has listed their games as among his top 10 consistently over time. What are you thinking people?”
Do you think Brandon Sanderson is right to be salty? Talk to us in the comments below!
