The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which had halted everything in Hollywood, including highly anticipated programs and films, have ended owing to a deal that will benefit all the writers and actors in the industry, regardless of network affiliation. This is good news for both the industry and fans who have been waiting for the release of their favorite series and movies, such as The Last of Us. The second season of the show will commence production in early 2024.

The Last of Us Season 2 gets a filming date

The production start date was revealed by showrunner Craig Mazin at A Night in the Writers’ Room, a session featuring writers from popular drama series chaired by Variety’s senior TV features editor Emily Longeretta. The second season of “The Last of Us” will start filming on February 12.

Charlotte Stoudt of “The Morning Show,” Nathan Fielder of “The Curse,” Sonja Warfield of “The Gilded Age,” Fred Golan of “Silo,” Deborah Cahn of “The Diplomat,” and Michael Dinner of “Justified: City Primeval” were among the other panelists.

Bella Ramsey also confirmed The Last of Us filming schedule

In a recent interview, Ramsey also hinted at the filming schedule, “[We begin shooting] next year. No, I do actually know. I mean, I temporarily know. Things are changing all the time, I think with the strikes, obviously now they’re finished, that’s amazing and we can actually get going and we can talk about it, but I think it’s delayed a couple of things, and availability and stuff. So we’ll see, but it will happen at some point early next year, which is exciting.”
