The Last of Us’ original Joel actor teases what’s to come in Season 2
The HBO adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game The Last of Us successfully completed its first season, and it was a roaring success. It broke a number of records when the season finale aired, surpassing the likes of House of The Dragon in terms of overall viewership. The second season of the show is already in the works, with fans highly excited about the arrival of an important character from the video game.
What is Troy Baker the most excited about for Season 2?
In one of the last videos released by HBO in The Last of Us questionnaire series, Baker talked about what he is looking forward to in Season 2, “As we end season 1 and we pivot to anticipating what season 2 looks like, I myself as a fan start asking a lot of questions. Who do you cast as Abby? That to me is one of the biggest questions I can’t wait to see. Because so far Neil and Craig have nailed the casting.”
Who is Abby Anderson?
Spoiler Alert: Abby can be described both as a protagonist and an antagonist, depending on your perspective, who starred in The Last of Us Part II. She is part of a militant group that formed after the fall of Fireflies following Joel’s brutal rampage. Her father was the doctor that Joel kills, the last person on earth who could’ve manufactured an antidote to the cordyceps infection. Abby’s only goal is to find Joel and get revenge.

The video game adaptation of the highly popular video game The Last of Us not only pays a beautiful homage to the source material by following it quite closely, but the show also featured some of the most beloved actors from the franchise. While Troy Baker (original Joel) ended up playing a minor role in episode 8, Laura Bailey, who voiced Abby in The Last of Us Part 2, stars as one of the nurses in the operating theater where Ellie is being prepped for surgery.
