The Iron Throne pays a visit to Tower of London ahead of House of The Dragon’s release
There’s hardly any doubt that some props from Game of Thrones have turned into pop culture icons. The one that stands out amongst them is the iconic Iron Throne. The Iron Throne fuels the desires of the characters, to one day become the ruler of the realm by claiming their chance to sit on the wicked throne. There is a reason why Daenerys’ last surviving dragon Drogon destroys it at the end of season 8. The long history of the Iron Throne in the Game of Thrones lore is very fascinating. And in House of The Dragon, we will get to see an Iron Throne closer to George R. R. Martin’s original design.
The Iron Throne, right now, is making a trip across the U.K. in anticipation of the upcoming prequel, and its most recent stop was the famous Tower of London. It reached the tower on August 8 and will be there for display for two days before continuing on its countrywide journey, the next stop being Leicester Square.
The new and improved seat – which is 10ft high and 12ft wide – was unveiled in front of the White Tower will also travel to Cardiff and Edinburgh during its tour ahead of the House of The Dragon premiere.
