House of The Dragon gains even more praise after European premiere
Game of Thrones fans are all hyped up about the upcoming prequel House of The Dragon. The official trailer received plenty of positive views, and the recent World Premiere was attended and praised by some of the most renowned critics. The spinoff show that will be revolving around the three most powerful families in Westeros right before the Dance of the Dragons – the Targaryens, the Velaryons, and the Hightowers, is currently one if not the most anticipated series of the year, and has managed to impress critics and fans even more after the European premiere that was held recently.
The House of The Dragon European premiere that was organized quite recently in Amsterdam was attended by several cast members including Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Olivia Cooke, Milly Alcock, and Emily Carey. Here are some of the reactions from those who attended the screening:
Yesterday @MLannisTarth and I were at the world premiere of House Of The Dragon… and mygod… you'll LOVE this!! At first I wasn't really excited (thank you GOT) but after seeing the first episode… WOW… IT'S AMAZING!#HouseoftheDragon #HouseofthedragonHBO pic.twitter.com/Vf53UClBXO

According to WiC, Javier Marcos, owner of Los Siete Reinos, said the first episode is “absolutely spectacular, on a par with the best episodes of Game of Thrones.” He said:
“It has absolutely everything. There is a lot of drama, action and tension….The performances shine, especially Matt Smith as Daemon, Paddy Considine as Viserys…and a sensational Sian Brooke as Aemma Arryn. The technical aspects are formidable, as we already suspected: costumes, music, photography and special effects: Syrax and Caraxes look scary.”
Redditor ckmkck who also got to visit the European premiere had some really nice things to say about the first episode. They said, “The first episode is arguably one of the best tv series premiere of a show. Much more happened in the first episode than I anticipated but it was written so well that it all flowed beautifully. It does have a dark undertone but it doesn’t overshadow the total mood of the show.”
“The cinematography is stunning, it felt like I was watching a movie instead of a tv show. In Game of Thrones there were episodes in season 8 that also felt very cinematic but HoTD does it in a much more professional and intricate way, a lot of focus shots. The reviews are definitely right about Matt Smith, he is phenomenal. I had my doubts about him at first but he plays the role of the rogue prince so well that it definitely makes the story much better.”
They added, “Aemma Arryn was also beautifully portrayed and the show definitely adds a lot more to the character than the books do. Otto was another highlight for me, especially small council scenes. They were written and acted incredibly well. Mostly I just noticed that nothing is rushed, everything that is in the book was also on screen, but with added depth to the narratives. The dragons also looked beautiful.”
