Sophie Turner sues Joe Jonas over ‘wrongful detainment’ of their kids
Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner and singer Joe Jonas were once among the fairytale couples in Hollywood. No one had expected them to split up in such a short time, that too after having two children. The divorce case between the two is taking an ugly turn, and we might get to know more about what really happened behind the screens, as Turner sued Jonas for the custody of their kids.
Joe Jonas wrongfully detained the kids
According to a recent report by Page 6, Turner filed a lawsuit in a Manhattan court Thursday requesting to secure “the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained.” Turner says that the “wrongful retention” started on September 20. Jonas and Turner allegedly made a Christmas 2022 agreement that they would make the UK their “forever home” and start searching for schools for their elder daughter, Willa, there.
The former couple was supposed to move to England
The report also states, “The parties were both looking forward to the family’s move to England.”
Additionally: “The children would then at least be able to spend some time during the day with one of their parents until the Mother finished her filming commitments,” and the daughters traveling on Jonas’ tour would only be a “temporary arrangement.”
Joe Jonas filed for divorce after an argument
The documents also state that the marriage fell apart very suddenly, following an argument on Aug. 15, Jonas’ birthday. Turner didn’t even know about the divorce until she saw news about it on social media. “The Father has possession of the children’s passports,” the documents further claim. “He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother.”
