Ramin Djawadi talks about writing music for the show in the latest Inside Game of Thrones video | Wiki of Thrones

If you’re a hardcore fan of Game of Thrones like us, then you must have definitely heard of ‘Inside Game of Thrones‘. In case you don’t know already, it is a series of behind the scenes featurette videos that HBO posts to the official YouTube channel of Game of Thrones. There have been quite a few videos in this series, covering several aspects of the production, and we now have a new video. The latest video focuses on none other than Ramin Djawadi, the music composer for the show. Read on!

The latest iteration of Inside Game of Thrones is titled “Inside Game of Thrones: A Story in Score (HBO)”. The video focuses on Ramin Djawadi, and the process that goes into the making of music for the show. Watch the video, below :

Ramin Djawadi talked about the themes of certain characters, and the cultural inspirations behind them. He discussed how he has worked with the storyline of the show to incorporate different themes into his music, and evolve them as the story progresses, ranging from factions like the Dothraki, to individual characters like Cersei. He also talked about the soundtrack played in the last episode of Season 6, and in the latest Season 7 trailer, titled ‘Light of the Seven’, and explained why he decided to use a piano in the theme, for the first time in the history of the show.
