Nikolaj Coster-Waldau to star in new crime drama podcast ‘Radioman’
Sometimes a show becomes so popular, that it often hides other accomplishments of its cast. The show becomes their identity, people often recognize them by their character from the show. Game of Thrones is an example of such a franchise. Actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is one of the most recognizable faces from the HBO fantasy, and most people would know him as Jaime f**king Lannister than his real name. Coster-Waldau is about to step into the world of podcasts, with the upcoming drama series Radioman.
Coster-Waldau co-created the series written by Joe Derick and produced by The X-Files vet Frank Spotnitz and Emily Feller. The podcast-within-a-podcast storyline shows the investigators Chas and his old friend, DCI Ian Whittaker, played by The Walking Dead actor David Morrissey, using a new podcast “Crimesville” as their investigative tool as Chas, an ex-radio DJ, deals with betrayal, deceit, and mounting pressure to solve murders, all the while going viral on social media.
The story was inspired by Dimiter Kenarov, who told the story of his reporting about a serial killer in the article “Mask of Sanity.” The half-hour episodes feature cinematic soundscapes, an original score and immersive sound design by Benbrick and also star Divian Ladwa, Cathy Tyson and George Georgiou.
