Nikolaj Coster-Waldau talks about whether Jaime could kill a pregnant Cersei
Game of Thrones has had some great character development, and one of the characters that has shown some great levels of development, is Jaime Lannister. At the end of Season 7, we saw him finally leave Cersei, and the weight on the Valonquar theory, and the possibility that Jaime is the one that will kill Cersei, is greater than ever. In a recent interview with InStyle, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who plays the role of Jaime Lannister, talked about the last scene, whether Jaime could kill a pregnant Cersei. Read on!
Talking about whether the kid Cersei is carrying is actually Jaime’s, Nikolaj said he has his doubts. Talking about whether she’s carrying Jaime’s child, he said :
“That’s what I thought. I mean, I still think she is. But I don’t know how. I’m not sure anymore. It might be that she was just playing all of us. When we did it, I definitely believed her. And that, I guess, is what’s important. Jaime believed her.”
Talking about whether Jaime could fullfill the Valonquar theory, knowing Cersei is pregnant, Nikolaj said :
“It makes sense. He killed the Mad King and now he’s killing the Mad Queen. It’d be like the Red Wedding 2. That would be really horrible. I hope he wouldn’t.“
At the end of Season 7, we saw Jaime being threatened by Cersei. He then leaves her saying ‘I don’t believe you’. Talking of this, Nikolaj said :
“She said, you know, no one walks away from me. And then he walks away from her and she tries to make that threat, like, ‘Okay, you’re going to die.’ When he says, ‘I don’t believe you,’ that’s the last thing he says, I think that means, I really don’t believe you. I don’t believe in you and me. But they’re always going to be connected.”
