New structure at King's Landing set confirmed to be Red Keep
Game of Thrones Season 8 has finished up production at the Magheramorne Quarry set for the longest ever battle sequence, and now the production is all set to move to the King’s Landing set at Titanic Studios, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Now, we recently reported about a new structure, blood red in color, that was thought to be a red screen for CGI, but it has now been confirmed to be the Red Keep. Read on!
Now, we know that HBO has been developing this set for a long time. The production recently finished filming a giant battle sequence which involves Winterfell, and we expect the filming to move to this King’s Landing set next. This set is nearly complete, and recently we saw a new structure added. We had concluded that it was a red screened building, but now new pictures fromA Red Priestess shows the new detailing on the building. Check it out, below:
The red wall reported a few days ago isn’t (completely) red anymore. I believe it might be an entrance to the Red Keep #GameofThrones #TitanicQuarter pic.twitter.com/W7njUCrr8m

Now, the detailing does make it look like it will the entrance to the Red Keep, as the OP rightly noted. Even then, the color of the wall is still awfully red, so there is a slight chance we might see the details on the wall rendered through CGI. Now what remains to be seen is what will be filmed on this massive set, because the amount of effort HBO has put into it makes us feel like the endgame will be in King’s Landing, and it will be big!
