The first season of House of the Dragon has left fans wanting more, and the show had been renewed for a second chapter even before the season finale aired. It might be some time for the second season to finally be here, as it takes a lot of hard work, planning, patience, coordination between various departments, and a big budget. The filming will begin very soon, with the construction of the sets already underway.

Where is House of The Dragon Season 2 being filmed?

Currently, new sets for Season 2 of House of The Dragon are being erected at Leavesden Studios, UK. The production will later move on to Spain to film a few key episodes. When will House of The Dragon return?

The filming of House of The Dragon season 2 is currently in pre-production, with the casting currently in progress. HBO chief Casey Bloys has confirmed in an indirect way that House of The Dragon won’t be coming back before the summer of 2024.

The second season of House of The Dragon will reportedly be shorter than the previous one. According to a report by Deadline, the Game of Thrones prequel will have an 8-episode long Season 2, 2 episodes shorter than Season 1. An HBO spokesperson confirmed that the reason behind the shorter season was not because of a lack of budget, but rather a story-driven choice. Moreover, HBO is already looking forward to renewing the series for a third season, once the second season of House of The Dragon drops.
