Game of Thrones, as we all know, is one of the most popular TV series, ever, and as such, the Game of Thrones fandom is massive. The show has integrated itself into the going abouts of pop culture, and as such, it is no stranger to merchandises. Adding to the already long list of merch the show has inspired, is Montegrappa. The luxury company has announced a whole new line-up of Game of Thrones inspired pens, and they’re beautiful! Read on!
Montegrappa, the Italian luxury company famous for being the oldest in the country, making high-quality writing instruments, and othet luxury accessories like cufflinks, leather wallets, fragrances and watches, issued a press release announcing the new line-up. The description read :
With its epic storylines of treachery and nobility, family and honor, ambition and love, and death and survival the hit HBO® series Game of Thrones has captured the imagination of fans globally and made it one of the most popular shows on television. Montegrappa is proud to announce a series of writing instruments that convey the grandeur of this most remarkable saga.
The line-up includes quite a few models, including one each for the four main houses : Stark, Baratheon, Lannister and Targaryen.
LThe pens have palladium or yellow and rose 18k gold-plated rims. The pens have painless steel nibs, and ‘Game of Thrones’ engraved on the cap rings. The pens are both cartridge and converter-fed and available in writing grades of Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad.
Check out the house pens, below :
Stark: “With House Stark’s northern origins, the colour chosen for the family’s pen is a silvery-white, accented in palladium, conveying winter. The cap is patterned with a runic symbol reminiscent of Norse artistry. A direwolf’s head forms the pocket clip, while the top of the cap shows the direwolf’s profile, above the motto, “Winter Is Coming.”
Baratheon: “Coloured a sombre charcoal, but accented in contrasting yellow gold, the House Baratheon pen features a stag’s head for its pocket clip, with a stag rampant on the cap’s top, above the motto, “Our Is The Fury”. A fleur-de-lis pattern decorates the cap.”
Targaryen: “Only a fiery, metallic red against a coal-black background could represent House Targaryen. Naturally, a dragon’s head forms the pocket clip, while a dragon coils above the legend, “Fire and Blood”, on the cap’s top. A filigree pattern graces the cap.”
Lannister: “For House Lannister, a regal red accented in contrasting yellow gold is the dominant color. The House Lannister pen features a lion’s head for its pocket clip, and a lion rampant on the cap’s top, above the motto, “Hear Me Roar”. A floral pattern, reminiscent of the Tudor Rose, decorates the cap.”
The pens are up for sale on the official website of Montegrappa. The fountain pens are priced at $261.99 (€ 245,00), the roller pens at $251.30 (€ 235,00), while the ballpoint pens go for $224.57 (€ 210,00). Montegrappa will also bring out deluxe limited edition Game of Thrones-themed pens, sometime in the future.
