Miltos Yerolemou (Syrio Forel) recalls pestering Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower) about House of The Dragon details
Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is one of the premier projects of HBO at the moment. The first teaser trailer was received quite well by the fans and the excitement is fresh in the air. Game of Thrones celebs seem to be hopeful about the prequel, including Miltos Yerolemou, who played Arya Stark’s sword-dancing teacher Syrio Forel. He is already so excited, he couldn’t help but pester the prequel’s star Olivia Cooke, who is set to play Alicent Hightower in the Game of Thrones prequel, to get some info about the show.
In a recent live Instagram AMA session with Game of Laughs, Miltos revealed how he tried to get some info about House of The Dragon from Cooke. He recalled, “I was lucky enough to make a TV show this year with Olivia Cooke, who is in it. And I did ask her a lot of questions, she wouldn’t really tell me anything. She’s like, “No! I can’t! Do not ask me questions, stop it! Do not talk to me!” She would avoid me all the time! Because she knew I’d be like, come on tell me what you know so she just avoided me. She wouldn’t tell me. I know what’s that like. They’d kill you if anyone finds out what’s going on.”
“HBO is really secretive. I don’t know very much about it except the cast, and the cast is amazing. Paddy Considine, Rhys Ifans, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, I mean it’s a fantastic cast. Miguel is the series creator. Let’s remember it’s never a good thing to create something that’s based on something that was very very successful, because the expectations will be so high, that there is only one place that our reality is going to meet, with is gonna be less than as high as we wanted it to be. So let’s always remember that. That’s something that is out of anyone’s control. That is just what happens when you try to follow a very successful TV show.”
“But I think if they create something that’s completely its own thing, I think it could be an amazing TV show. It’s about the Targaryens, and they’re going to be very interesting. We didn’t get enough Targaryens, the ones we met were all lunatics, so I hope it’s full of lunatics. And unpredictable. So I’m definitely looking forward to it because the acting chops on this show is going to be incredible. So definitely very-very watchable.”
Miltos ended the interview with a note on the importance of mental health, “A thing that’s very close to me is mental health. And I don’t know about anyone who’s watching this but I feel like my mental health has really suffered over the last few years. And it’s because the things that we used to take for granted we just can’t take for granted anymore. And that’s really hard. I just want everyone to realize that if you’re struggling, if you’re suffering, you’re not alone. I like to when I can raise money for a mental health charity in the UK called Mind.”
“And I’m sure all over the world there are mental health charities but this one, in particular, has helped people that I’ve known and loved and have been able to see a light in the darkness. I think that it is, you know, if anyone were to spare money, you wanna donate to that cause, it is always very-very welcome. Even if you don’t want to donate any money to a cause, always remember that we are all, you know, everyone suffers with their mental health, to a lesser or greater extent. And that we must try and we have to look after each other. I hope that people don’t feel that they’re alone. If they’re suffering. Because you’re not alone. We’re all there.”
“Stay strong. Remember, not today!”
