Maisie Williams opens up about the possibility of Arya returning for a Game of Thrones spin-off
Game of Thrones was one of those shows that left a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of fans with its final season. There were a lot of things left unexplained, a lot of storylines that seemed to have been forgotten. The Stark siblings did find their destinies. Bran became the King of the realm, Sansa became the Queen in the North, Jon went beyond the Wall to live with the wildlings and Arya set sail for her new adventure, discovering what’s West of Westeros. We never got to know how their journeys went, as there’s no source material (blame George R. R. Martin for that). Martin’s books are far behind the show, and fans are eagerly waiting for the next book Winds of Winter.

However, even after the convoluted and rushed ending, some fans wished that the story continued. Many were keen to know what happened to the Stark children after the events of Game of Thrones, especially Arya Stark. While Maisie Williams has said that she is always ready to come back to the role, she does not know of any spinoff involving Arya in HBO’s plans for the GOTverse.
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Williams said, “I’m not saying it would never happen, but I’m also not saying it in this interview so that everyone goes… ‘The spin-off! It’s coming!’ Because it’s not. It has to be the right time and the right people. It has to be right in the context of all the other spin-offs and the universe of Game of Thrones. But most importantly: It has to be the right time for me.”
