The second season of Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is right around the corner. There were other projects in development in addition to the prequel program. Some of them were shelved, while others are still in various phases of development.

A Jon Snow spinoff starring Kit Harington is the one that has attracted a lot of interest. However, it seems like fans will have to wait for it, for now.

The work on SNOW might be paused for now

Kit Harington’s Jon Snow spinoff is currently the only Game of Thrones sequel series that is in the world. Fans are awaiting the show anxiously to go back to the Westeros they are more familiar with. However, it seems like no work is being done on SNOW right now.

According to a fan jems, who met the Game of Thrones star at the London Comic Con last year,

“Kit has said the snow show is on ice and he can’t currently seeing it going anywhere and it’s not happening right now, but he’s open to it in the future but not right now. He says it was talked through but currently it’s not happening but maybe in the future.”

SNOW and other Game of Thrones spinoffs haven’t been greenlit yet

Many Game of Thrones spinoffs are reportedly being developed at HBO under George R. R. Martin’s direction. This has been known for a while. Kit Harington’s follow-up to Jon Snow was one of the projects she took a break from during the WGA strikes. Recently, at a press conference, HBO executive Casey Bloys stated,

“We always have Game of Thrones scripts in development. We greenlit Dunk and Egg in the spring. I wouldn’t say there is anything else in that world that is close to a green light or anything, but we are always working on different scripts and ideas.”
