Kevin Feige reportedly pushed for Pedro Pascal’s casting in Fantastic Four to promote diversity

Actors from Game of Thrones have been pouring into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is known for its intricate storytelling and ability to bring beloved comic book characters to life on screen. Pedro Pascal, a Thrones alum who has ruled 2023 with shows like The Last of Us and The Mandalorian, might be the latest to enter the highly popular MCU as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic.
Pedro Pascal was added to the MCU to make it less “white”
No doubt, Pascal has proved his mettle as an esteemed performer in the Hollywood industry, however, his reported casting might have been the result of another factor. According to industry insider Jeff Sneider, before Pascal was revealed as a possible choice to play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, MCU head Kevin Feige was concerned that the ensemble of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Fantastic Four film would be “way too white.”
Who else might be in MCU’s Fantastic Four?
Marvel has not yet provided a statement regarding Pascal’s casting or any other Fantastic Four casting announcements. Though there are a number of rumors regarding the other members of Marvel’s First Family, the most well-known ones state that Ebon Moss-Bachrach might be playing the Thing, Vanessa Kirby may be playing the Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, and Joseph Quinn could be playing the Human Torch/Johnny Storm. Galactus in the movie is supposedly being played by Javier Bardem.
