Pedro Pascal‘s year in 2023 has been incredibly prosperous. The former cast member of Game of Thrones had a great start to the year in HBO’s The Last of Us, receiving praise from critics and viewers alike for his portrayal of Joel. This earned him his first-ever Emmy nomination. Pascal is rumored to be joining the MCU, in a role that might excite the fans even more.

Pedro Pascal might play Fantastic Four’s Mr. Fantastic in the MCU

Though Pedro Pascal has been in superhero flicks before, like the DCEU’s Wonder Woman 1984 and We Can Be Heroes, but never in a central heroic role. According to an insider report by Deadline, Pedro Pascal is in talks to play the stretchy scientist, Reed Richards, in the upcoming MCU’s Fantastic Four film. However, nothing has been confirmed by either party yet, and he might even play a rumored villain i.e. Dr. Doom.

Who is Reed Richards?

Reed Richards, a scientist and inventor who goes by Mister Fantastic, is regarded as one of the most intelligent beings in the Marvel Universe. He is a polymath who is knowledgeable in every field of science, including biology, chemistry, physics, electronics, mechanical, electrical, and aerospace engineering.

During a trip to space in the stolen rocket, the Marvel-1, Richards, his best friend Ben Grimm, then-girlfriend Sue Storm, and her younger brother Johnny Storm were all exposed to high levels of cosmic radiation. He and his friends were altered by the radiation, giving him the ability to flex and shape his body as he pleased. They formed the Fantastic Four together.

Mr. Fantastic was last played by John Krasinski in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
