Jon Favreau reportedly threatened to quit The Mandalorian over creative issues with Lucasfilm President
Every great project always faces some kind of minor bumps along the way. However, if your star director has a big issue with your work ethic, it becomes a rather huge threat to your franchise. Pedro Pascal‘s The Mandalorian is currently one of Disney+’s greatest hits. However, not too long ago, it was in danger of losing its greatest pillar – director Jon Favreau.
Why did Jon Favreau reportedly threaten to quit The Mandalorian?
According to a rumor by Overlord DVD YouTube channel, The Mandalorian director Jon Favreau threatened to leave the production if Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy didn’t stop meddling with his plans. Kennedy reportedly orchestrated Gina Carano’s exit from the show and canceled Rangers of the New Republic, where the actress was supposed to play a role.
Kathleen Kennedy was the reason why Grogu reunited with Din Djarin too early
The report also said that Kennedy was the one who forced a revision of the scripts for The Book of Boba Fett, making sure that Grogu reunites with Din Djarin despite the seemingly different ending at the finale episode of The Mandalorian Season 2. Favreau got so dismayed and annoyed that he threatened to quit The Mandalorian and go work on Ahsoka instead.
However, the work was already too far ahead on The Mandalorian, hence Disney had to call back Favreau to continue and salvage what he could.
When will The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 4 air?
