John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) feels House of The Dragon is going to be “a bittersweet experience”
Game of Thrones was brutal towards a lot of brave characters, but the one that was introduced to us as the wimp — John Bradley‘s Samwell Tarly, somehow survived everything. Not only that, he ended up becoming the Grand Maester of the new realm of men, under King Bran. One of the best characters on the show, a lot of us wished we had seen a lot more of Jon Snow’s best friend in action, or at least that the series went on for a bit longer.
Well, we cannot change what happened with Game of Thrones, but we do have an upcoming prequel House of The Dragon. Though a lot of us wished we could see our favourite characters back on screen, it is just not possible given the prequel is set 200 years before the time of the original, and that makes John Bradley, who played Sam, a bit sad too.
Bradley recently chatted with Screen Rant about his upcoming film Moonfall, and on being asked about House of The Dragon, he replied, “It’s going to be very strange. It’s a bit like when you move house, and you go back to your old house, and you see other people have moved in and what they’ve done with it and the way they’ve changed it. It’s going to be a strange experience, but it’s going to be a happy experience.”
“I’m so happy to see that universe expanding, and it’s in such great hands with Miguel Sapochnik, who did so many of our great episodes of the show. I think it’s going to be a bittersweet experience. But I really hope it does well because there’s so much potential for that universe to expand in all sorts of directions. Miguel’s the right man to do it. Great cast there, Matt Smith, and so many other fun people. I think it’s going to be great, but there’s going to be a tinge of sadness that none of us are involved, I think.”
