Interview
Jessica Henwick (Nymeria Sand) felt ‘intimidated’ by the popularity of Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones stars have been landing major roles in almost every big franchise ever since the show got hit. From Marvel to DC and other great production houses, the film industry has benefitted a lot from their immense talents, but there are times when an actor has to choose between projects and it’s not an easy choice. Jessica Henwick, who played Nymeria Sand in the series, landed a major role in the last Matrix movie, and her future is looking quite bright ahead.
In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Henwick talked about her recent roles and how working with some of the most famous names in the industry brought a certain kind of pressure. She compared this pressure with her time on Game of Thrones:
“Definitely, when I joined Game of Thrones, that’s probably when I felt it the most, because I had watched every episode of that show. I was such a big fan. And going into it, it wasn’t even a specific actor that it felt intimidating to be around or anything.
It was the beast of the show, and knowing that every single person in the world was watching this show right now. It was on top of the world. So that was hard. The other jobs? I haven’t felt it was much.”
Do you think the pressure Henwick felt on Game of Thrones affected her performance in any way? Let us know on our discord server.
