House of The Dragon Season 2 might wrap up filming quicker than Season 1

Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon season 2 is currently in the production phase. HBO’s fantasy epic is one of the top contenders at this year’s Emmy Awards, eyeing multiple nominations in various categories. Fans are eagerly looking forward to the release of Season 2, which has already begun filming, with a bunch of new faces on the team.

House of The Season 2 might finish production in half the time as Season 1

According to various sources that have reported to Redanian Intelligence, HBO’s current plan is to finish the production of Season 2 by September/October 2023, provided there are no unforeseen delays. Compared to the first season, the filming schedule of the second is almost half as quicker.

How many episodes will House of The Dragon Season 2 have?

The second season of House of The Dragon will reportedly be shorter than the previous one. According to a report by Deadline, the Game of Thrones prequel will have an 8-episode long Season 2, 2 episodes shorter than Season 1. An HBO spokesperson confirmed that the reason behind the shorter season was not because of a lack of budget, but rather a story-driven choice.

When will House of The Dragon return?

The filming of House of The Dragon season 2 is currently under production, with the casting process almost complete and the sets being constructed at key locations. HBO chief Casey Bloys has confirmed in an indirect way that House of The Dragon won’t be coming back before the summer of 2024.
