House of the Dragon fans want Henry Cavill to star in the show after Superman snub
House of the Dragon fans have been campaigning for Henry Cavill to don a platinum wig and play a Targaryen in House of the Dragon. Fans took to social media to campaign for Cavill to make his way to Westeros.
In the eyes of fans, that frees him up to take on a potential role in House of the Dragon. It was speculated that the actor left his role in Netflix’s The Witcher to play Superman again in the DCEU. Cavill has expressed interest to be a part of the Game of Thrones universe, too.
Since that is no longer the case, Cavill could take up roles that require major time commitments. Neither the showrunners nor the actor has made any indication about Cavill coming to HOTD.

Fans already have more than a couple of ideas as to who the actor could play, from Maegor the Cruel to a young Robert Baratheon. While Cavill would fit right in as a Targaryen, it is pure fan-casting and speculation at this point.
Cavill is a hot commodity in the business right now as the actor has won over several communities of fans at this point. The actor’s made no secret of his love for gaming and even wants to adapt the Warhammer series to film or TV at some point.
One of the most popular fan casting choices regarding Cavill in GoT was him taking on the role of Aegon the Conqueror. The source text is incredibly rich and HBO could potentially choose to explore Aegon’s conquest of the Seven Kingdoms at some point. It will be interesting if the actor and the showrunners can find a place for him in the show.
