House of The Dragon Episode 8 will feature the last major time jump of the series

House of The Dragon Episode 8 Preview foreshadows the struggle for Driftmark

Episode 6 is the foreshadowing of the conflict that will befall House Targaryen and all of Westeros. We are moving in a swift manner towards a full-blown civil war with the grown-up cast, thanks to the several time jumps we have been noticing since the beginning of the series. This is important because the saga of the struggle between the Greens and the Blacks spans several decades, and the time skips help get to the point in the storyline that the series is actually based on.

However, these major time jumps will halt once House of The Dragon Episode 8 airs. Reportedly, by that time, the characters of the Game of Thrones prequel series will reach the age when the infamous civil war, known as the ‘Dance of the Dragons’ in George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, will begin officially. The cast members that you see in the eighth episode will be the ones playing their characters for the rest of the series, as of right now the series is planned on running for 3-4 seasons.

As of now, in the sixth episode of House of The Dragon, the series moved forward by 10 years since Rhaenyra’s wedding with Laenor Velaryon, indicating a lot has happened in that time frame. A lot of the characters have grown up, hence so many new faces that include Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, John MacMillan, and more.
