Fans shocked at House of the Dragon actors not getting a single Emmy Awards 2023 nomination

Game of Thrones on HBO was a television show behemoth in every respect, dominating audiences, ratings, and award shows for close to ten years. It appears like House of the Dragon, the prequel series, is traveling in a similar direction. However, even though the show got nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at the 2023 Emmy Awards, none of the actors managed to get any.

Fans are disappointed by House of the Dragon actors’ Emmy 2023 snub

HBO had put up a number of actors for various categories for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. Fans were furious at the critically acclaimed performances of Paddy Considine, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emily Carey, Milly Alcock, and many more being brushed under the rug.

A lot of them took to Twitter to express their disappointment:

Here are all the categories HOTD was nominated in:

  • Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Period Or Fantasy Program (One Hour)
  • Outstanding Cinematography For A Series (One Hour)
  • Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes
  • Outstanding Period And/Or Character Makeup (Non-Prosthetic)
  • Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup
  • Outstanding Drama Series
  • Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour)
  • Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie

Separate from the main show, they also received an Emmy for House Of The Dragon: Inside The Episode for Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction or Reality Series.
