Here’s a first look at King Viserys I Targaryen’s first wife – Aemma Arryn!

Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon has created a huge hype amongst fantasy lovers. HBO is leaving no stones unturned in the marketing of the fantasy series. In the past few days, they’ve released several photos of some of the key characters in costume. Recently, one more important cast member has come under the attention of the Game of Thrones community. It appears that King Viserys Targaryen’s pre-coronation events will also be covered by House of The Dragon, and that means his first wife Aemma Arryn will make an appearance.
In an exclusive photoshoot by Entertainment Weekly at the set of House of The Dragon in Leavesden Studios, one particular picture that surfaced has been making headlines for quite some time now. It depicts previously undisclosed important characters, including Viserys’ grandfather King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, and his wife Aemma Arryn. It looks like the picture belongs to a period before the coronation of Viserys, and Aemma is pregnant with their daughter Rhaenyra (or it might be Baelon II as well).

Though it hasn’t been confirmed by HBO yet, it appears that Aemma Arryn is played by British actress Sian Brooke. Her talent agency’s website does mention a role in House of The Dragon, but it is not specified yet.
Aemma was the fifth child of Lord Rodrik Arryn and his second wife Princess Daella Targaryen, who was the daughter of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen. Aemma and Viserys had several children but only one survived; their daughter Rhaenyra Targaryen who they adored dearly. The queen died after giving birth to their last son Baelon, who also died a day later.
