HBO’s programming VP states conditions for developing more Game of Thrones spinoffs

The world of Westeros is slowly spreading its roots! The success of Game of Thrones tempted the execs at HBO to venture forth into the mystical realm of George R. R. Martin’s novels, as a result, we have House of The Dragon, the first prequel, to be released very soon. House of The Dragon will be here in August, and HBO recently released a second teaser trailer featuring the dragons for the first time. However, HBO has also been playing around with several ideas that are set in the world of Westeros, but with a set criterion in mind.
In a recent interview at the ATX Television Festival, HBO’s programming VP Kara Buckley explained what they are looking for in future Game of Thrones spinoffs. She said, “We developed a lot of ideas, we were still developing a lot of ideas, and I think we’re really excited about the one [House of The Dragon] that will air later this summer.”
“But we don’t feel the need to make another one unless it feels really creatively exciting to us. That’s my job, at least. And the team that I’m on, that’s what we’re told to focus on.”
Which ideas do you think HBO should move forward with? Tell us in the comments below!
