HBO and ReedPOP working on new Game of Thrones merchandise
We have been talking a lot about Game of Thrones merchandise lately, and boy oh boy, so much of it has been released lately. Thanks to the New York Toy Fair, quite a few refreshed Game of Thrones merch was seen. Now however, we have some brand new merchandise headed our way, as HBO and ReedPOP have announced that they’re teaming up to make new Game of Thrones merchandise. Read on!
Now, this new deal has a nice arrangement. Reed Exhibitions is am event organization company, so that means the fans will get to see this new merch at fan conventions. It starts with the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, WA, which is currently going on, with more products set to be revealed at later conventions this year. We will be getting “apparel, bags, barware, pins, keychains, and much more.”
Jeff Peters, HBO VP of licensing and retail, commented on the announcement
“Comic Con attendees are some of the most passionate fans in the world, and we are excited to join forces with ReedPOP to offer them unique, exclusive Game of Thrones products. We’ll be kicking the partnership off with an impressive lineup of items at ECCC, but this is just the beginning. Fans can expect to see more awesome items at ReedPOP events around the globe.”
ReedPOP senior VP Lance Fensterman expressed his excitement as well:
“Game of Thrones is a global phenomenon that our fans can never get enough of. Both the programming and talent have historically been a huge hit with fans at our shows, so creating this crossover to provide an exclusive collection of merchandise was a no-brainer.”
We cannot wait to see what else ReedPOP has in store for us. We should be getting a reveal of the initial line-up from the Emerald City Comic Con, but more on that as we hear about it.
