Game of Thrones writer George R. R. Martin is one of the most accomplished novelists today, with some of the best-selling books under his belt. The veteran author is already associated with a bunch of new shows, including Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon. House of the Dragon is an adaptation of an infamous event from his book ‘Fire & Blood’, a civil war known as ‘The Dance of The Dragons’. The book was re-released recently with a tie-in art from House of The Dragon, and Martin already has plans for a second book in the series.

In a recent post on his blog Not A Blog, Martin wrote:

“HOUSE OF THE DRAGON will tell the story of the Targaryen civil war known as “the Dance of the Dragons.”

FIRE & BLOOD will include that tale… as well as a lot, lot more. Aegon’s Conquest. Maegor the Cruel and his war with the Faith. The long reign of Jaehaerys the Conciliator and Good Queen Alysanne. Septon Moon, the Serpent in Scarlet, Elissa Farman and the stolen dragon eggs, the regency of King Aegon III… it’s all here, and much more.

(And yes, this is the first of two volumes. The second will follow… through not till the WINDS have blown).

Signed copies will be available from Beastly Books in Santa Fe… while they last.

No I don’t think it would. Martin is to focused on TV now, so the books are taking the back burner. I think the GOT series should have waited a few years, because Martin will never finish Winds of Winter or a Dream of Spring nor Fire and Blood Vol.2. Reason why I say this besides the fact that he’s to busy turning the existing books into tv shows with unfinished book endings, the man is 73 years old…how long does he still have to write these books?

I agree completely. The ending of GOT was a good indicator of Martin’s interests and inabilities to bring a good end to his stories or any end at all. I was surprised that Fire and Blood did not have an ending. It should have been straight forward for Martin to merge his Westeros history with the stories alluded to in GOT. I will not hold my breath waiting for suitable endings for any of Martin’s stories, books or TV series.
