“The Summer Machine” is a sci-fi short film that has recently finished filming in New Mexico. The details about the plot are still under wraps, but we know that Michael Cassutt, known for his work on “The Twilight Zone,” directed and wrote the script. Producers include Steve Graham, Elias Gallegos, Mark Steinig, and Martin’s own company, Fevre River Packet Company.
The film stars Lina Esco, best known for her role in “S.W.A.T.,” and features supporting roles from Charles Martin Smith of “American Graffiti” fame and Matt Frewer from “Fear the Walking Dead.” Alexander Yellen, who has worked on “Z Nation,” was the cinematographer for the project.
Martin shared the first still from the set with a playful statement, “Summer is coming,” a nod to the famous “Winter is coming” line from “Game of Thrones.” This teaser has generated excitement among fans eager to see Martin’s take on the sci-fi genre.
