Eboni Booth joins the creative team to create new pilot
Eboni Booth is a writer and actor from New York City. Audiences and critics alike have praised her for her plays like Primary Trust and Paris. She has also written for Hulu’s We Were the Lucky Ones and HBO Max’s Julia. As an actor, Booth has appeared at Playwrights Horizons, LCT3 and more. Adding to her already impressive collection of awards is The 2024 Pulitzer Prize in Drama. Lately, Martin and HBO have kept Eboni Booth very busy which he revealed by saying,
“…she has been kept busy by me and HBO, working on a new pilot for TEN THOUSAND SHIPS, a GAME OF THRONES spinoff about Nymeria and the Rhoynar. We’re all very excited about this one… though we’re still trying to figure out how we’re going to pay for ten thousand ships, three hundred dragons, and those giant turtles.”
Ten Thousand Ships will follow the story of Nymeria, the legendary warrior queen. She united the feuding factions of the Rhoynar refugees and led them on a trek from Essos to Dorne to escape the Freehold of Valyria. The show will venture through her journey, leadership dynamics, and the process of forming a new home for her people. Loaded with adventure and drama, the story will surely draw in a broad viewership.
In his blog, Martin acknowledged that it’s hard to stage 10,000 ships, 300 dragons, and gigantic turtles. Regardless, his enthusiasm for the project comes through loud and clear. This collaboration between Martin and Booth, along with all the CGI capabilities of HBO productions, is surely going to excite fans. Martin’s storytelling and his capability to attract people ensure that this new series will be an outstanding addition to the Game of Thrones saga. As the project moves forward, fans are eager for more details and the future of this exciting new chapter in the world of Westeros.
