Game of Thrones star Rory McCann hints at some brutal action in Game of Thrones Season 7!
Game of Thrones does a lot of things well, but among the things it does best, are the show’s portrayal of relationships, especially those between siblings, and the show’s portrayal of fights. Now we all know the lengths to which the sibling relationships on the show go, and we have seen how violent the fights, especially duels, can get. So what happens when these two things mix? Yes, Cleganebowl! Actor Rory McCann, who plays the role of Sandor Clegane, a.k.a., The Hound, recently talked about we’ll see it happen this season. Read on!
Now, in anew featureabout Game of Thrones Season 7 by Empire magazine, Rory McCann (The Hound) talked about himself. He said :
“I think my body can only take one more season – I’m sore.”
First off, this just seems like he’s hinting that The Hound survives the season. Not only this, in the same feature, Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos) also revealed that The Hound will be seen in full body armor again, in Season 7.
Now this is really exciting as we will get to see lot of action, especially the Hound hacking off people or Wights depending on what we saw in the latest Game of Thrones season 7 trailer. However, it might also hint at the Cleganebowl as we have seen a shot of the Hound with a sword in his hand, while he stands in the Dragonpit with a Lannister soldier in the background.
For the newbies, what is Cleganebowl? Basically the Clegane brothers, Gregor Clegane, a.k.a. The Mountain, and Sandor, The Hound, want each other dead. Remember that major burn on The Hound’s face? The Mountain did that to him when they were kids! Their fight has been hyped up to such levels that majority of the Game of Thrones fandom now believes that the two will end up fighting before the series ends, and only one will live. The fight has been dubbed Cleganebowl.
Now, we did see a duel between the two back in Season 1, back when The Mountain was portrayed by Conan Stevens but it wasn’t enough. Mostly because neither of them died. The mountain is now portrayed by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who has previously talked about Cleganebowl, and not entirely dismissed the idea.
So, will we see Cleganebowl in Season 7, and The Hound winning it and surviving? Could explain why Rory said he was sore. Or does it involve his fight against the Wights? What do you think? Tell us in the comments, below!
