Game of Thrones star DeObia Oparei joins the cast of Netflix’s 'The Gray Man'

Working on a project as big as Game of Thrones is a once in a lifetime experience. The fame that comes with being part of something so big exceeds that of the fortune you inherit from the show. People begin to recognize you by your character and remember you by your contribution. Game of Thrones actor DeObia Oparei left an everlasting mark in the minds of the viewers with his performance as Areo Hotah, captain of Prince Doran Martell’s guards. The British actor has joined the cast of the Netflix thriller, The Gray Man.

The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It is said to be the biggest-budget movie the streamer has made. The upcoming cinema boasts an impressive cast that includes Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Dhanush, Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard, Regé-Jean Page, Julia Butters, and Eme Ikwuakor.

Joe Russo wrote the screenplay with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It’s based on the first instalment of the best-selling book series, The Gray Man, first launched in 2009.

The Gray Man is former CIA operative Court Gentry (Gosling), aka, Sierra Six. Plucked from a federal penitentiary and recruited by a former handler, Donald Fitzroy (Thornton). Gentry was once a highly-skilled, Agency-sanctioned merchant of death. But now the tables have turned and Six is the target. Hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former cohort at the CIA. He will stop at nothing to take him out. Agent Dani Miranda (Armas) has his back. He’ll need it.

Game of Thrones boasted a great and varied slew of amazing characters. Each of them had a pivotal role in the telling of the story. Conleth Hill’s Lord Varys had an important role in shaping the direction of the fantastical epic. In the first season of Game of Thrones, he appeared as a guest star and joined the starring cast from the second season. He will now be appearing in ITV’s upcoming adaptation of Graham Norton’s darkly comic, best-selling novel Holding.

The series is set in the insular fictional village of Duneen, Ireland. The four-part series will see the actor bring Sergeant PJ Collins to life. He is a local officer who would much rather spend the day scoffing comfort food and doing half-hearted police work than interacting with others.

His lacklustre routine becomes a thing of the past though when the body of long-lost community legend Tommy Burke is discovered and PJ is tasked with solving a serious crime for the first time in his career. And to do so, he’ll have to try and reconnect with his neighbours after avoiding them all for most of his life.

Gimme Gimme Gimme’s Kathy Burke is on board to direct. Working with a script written by Dominic Treadwell-Collins (EastEnders) and Karen Cogan (The Young Offenders).

I’m looking forward to getting to work with Kathy, the cast and crew, Dominic and everyone at Happy Prince on bringing Graham’s brilliant characters and story to the screen,” Hill said.

Hill also lent his voice for Tourism NI’s audio stories. Are you excited to watch another brilliant performance by Conleth Hill? Tell us in the comments below!

Criminal stories are one of the most popular genres of movies and literature that are full of thrill and suspense. The fun increases exponentially when the story is told by one of our favourite figures. Game of Thrones’ Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) will be playing the lead role in ITV’s The Tower from Homeland writer Patrick Harbinson. The three-part adaptation is based on Kate London’s Metropolitan Police novel Post Mortem.

The actress has been spotted filming in Runcorn for the detective drama. She joined other cast and crew on Runcorn Cemetery on Friday, to shoot a scene involving a police funeral alongside other actors.

A series teaser released by ITV said: “In The Tower’s breath-taking opening sequence, a veteran beat cop and a teenage girl fall to their deaths from a tower block in south-east London. Left alive on the roof are a five-year-old boy and rookie police officer Lizzie Griffiths (played by Tahirah Sharif). Within hours, Lizzie has disappeared, and Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins is charged with leading the investigation.

She not only has to track down Lizzie before she comes to serious harm but also to uncover the truth behind the grisly deaths.

What chain of events took two police officers and two children to the roof of that tower block – why did two of them die?

Why did two of them survive?”

It is said that further filming is expected to take place around Liverpool and Manchester. What do you think about the upcoming drama? Tell us in the comment below!

Game of Thrones was a story that showed how different characters go through a series of transformation over time. These occurred either due to the character’s own choices or were forced by a certain situation. Nathalie Emmanuel who played the role of Missandei on Game of Thrones was one of them. She will now be seen in a new horror thriller The Bride. The movie is inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

The Bride will be directed by Jessica M. Thompson. The original writer of the script is Blair Butler. Nathalie will be sharing the screen alongside Garrett Hedlund. The Bride tells the story of a young woman who is courted and swept off her feet, only to realize a gothic conspiracy is afoot. Studio Screen Gems is said to be ‘excited’ by the project and its Dracula connection and are fast-tracking it for an end-of-summer start, seeing it as a potential franchise.

Nathalie will be seen next month in the Fast & Furious franchise, reprising her role as Megan Ramsey from Furious 7. She has also just finished filming the prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, Army of Thieves.
