Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke played Futurama’s Doctor Zoidberg's Love Interest in Season 7
It is always surprisingly pleasant to find out some of our most favourite cartoons were voiced by our beloved actors. Futurama is one of the funniest animated shows currently on TV. They often make parodies of popular shows, movies, or some real-life situations. However, back in 2013, Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke voiced a character on the show, and barely anyone noticed.
In Season 7’s “Stench and Stenchibility” – the 25th episode of Futurama – Doctor Zoidberg found true love with the Game of Thrones veteran. Doctor John Zoidberg was introduced in the second episode of Futurama, ‘The Series Has Landed.’ The physician for the Planet Express Delivery Company, Zoidberg is a brilliant doctor when it comes to alien biology. With humans – who are the majority of his co-workers – he’s far less knowledgeable. Over the course of Futurama, Zoidberg was increasingly treated in worse ways.
His appearance and odour were often mocked by the rest of the crew. He was openly insulted by the rest of his co-workers. However, his greatest personal win came in the penultimate episode of the series, Stench and Stenchibility. Before a date, Zoidberg uses some of his funds to purchase flowers from a woman named Marianne, voiced by Emilia Clarke, who previously played Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s Game of Thrones. After the date fails because of Zoidberg’s natural odour, he tries to return the flowers and gets the chance to save her from a robbery. In thanks for his assistance, Marianne — who’d earlier been enchanted by Zoidberg’s natural charm — asks him out for a date. The episode concludes with the pair kissing and driving off into the sunset.

Game of Thrones always had a way with merchandising, and while the show itself is over, but the merch lives on. It’s time to return to Westeros with Prime 1 Studio’s latest sculpture that features Games of Thrones’ Jon Snow on the Iron Throne. Owning a house is always on the list of dreams one wants to accomplish during their lifetime. But what if that house has a secret theatre that looks like something straight out of Westeros? Priced at $799,000, a house in Tennessee may look like your average high-end listing, but a closer look at the photos will reveal a whole other world — more specifically, a basement made to look like Westeros.
The owners took one room in the spacious home and used it to recreate the fictional continent from the popular book and television series “Game of Thrones” down to the last detail.
“The theatre room will steal the show for most,” reads the listing description. “Top notch sound-proofing, theatre system and Game of Thrones design will make you feel like you just stepped into Universal Studios.”
The mansion quickly caught the eye of Zillow Gone Wild, a popular Instagram page posting strange or unusual mansions. Instagram users quickly poked fun at the fact that, while “Game of Thrones” ran on HBO from 2011 to 2019, the fanbase takes the worlds first imagined by George R. R. Martin extremely seriously, as evidenced by the detail put into this theatre room.
“Imagine how nervous you’d feel being shown up those stairs,” wrote proper_posh_properties. “Then the relief when it’s just an awesome cinema room. They thought Game of Thrones was just gonna be on forever,” Missirlou wrote.
Last year, Game of Thrones and real-life couple Kit Harington and Rose Leslie bought a medieval farmhouse reminiscent of the popular show. Would you like to own the mansion? Tell us in the comments below!
Jimmy Fallon is perhaps one of the most famous celebrity talk-show hosts of current times. The list of celebs he has interviewed till now is ginormous, no wonder every famous show or film uses the talk show as a means to advertise. The beloved host completed 1500 episodes of The Tonight Show, which is a great achievement in itself. And Game of Thrones star Kit Harington congratulated him in the sweetest way.
“Guys, tonight is our 1,500th show and, in honour of that, something special is about to happen,” explained Fallon. He went on sharing, “Years ago we had an idea for a bit called ‘Straight Up Goes For It.’ It was a simple idea. We wanted somebody to come out and straight-up sing ‘Drops of Jupiter’ by the band Train. That’s it. That’s the whole idea.”
“The sketch has been our white whale,” Fallon added. “We’ve been pitching it for years. Dozens of people. Famous people that you know and love, both singers, they sing in movies, they dance and they sing, and they actually have music out. They all passed on it. But not tonight. Tonight that changes, because we finally have someone who has the guts to do it.”
That person was Kit Harington and, well, he straight up went for it. Harington admitted to Fallon, “I had a lot of thoughts when you sent me that. Like, a lot. And the sensible part of my brain, the bit that said, ‘You’re not a singer, you have no connection to this song, it’s of no relevance to anything you’re talking about on the show,’ said don’t do it. But there was another little part of my brain, right? The bit that gets me in trouble, that was like, ‘But what if you’re brilliant?’”
However, he also admitted that in the ten seconds before he started the performance, “that same little part of my brain said, ‘you shouldn’t have done this.’”
