Game of Thrones casting seven new roles for Season 8!
As you might already be knowing, the preparations for Game of Thrones Season 8 have already begun. The season begins filming in October, and we now have news information. A new report by fellow Game of Thrones fan site Watchers on the Wall has now revealed that the production is casting seven new roles for Season 8. Let’s get into the details :
The first role is a Mercenary, aged 35-50. Description says he is “an authoritative, fit, cool and charismatic military type.” Horse riding skills are required, and the character will appear in two of the six episodes. It sounds like the character will be a member of The Golden Company. However, here’s the most interesting part, the role will be filming in the week of December 11, and then May and June of 2018. This means that Season 8 will film till June at least, for sure, while The Hollywood Reporter has said that it might go on till August, which will mean that we will have to wait till 2019 to be able to watch it.
Moving on, the second role being cast is of a Northern farmer, aged 25 – 35, described as a “straightforward honest man of simple tastes.” The character will film in the week of November 17th. Next up, is a sassy, attractive Northern girl, aged 18 – 25, and the only female role being cast. The character will appear in a “memorable” scene with leading cast members, and will film in the week of November 6. There’s another Northern role : a Northern sentry, aged 18 – 25. The description speaks of “a characterful young Northern actor with great timing,” and he will share a scene with the leads, as well. The character will film in the first week of December.
The next character seems to be an Ironborn; Sailor, aged 35- 50. Description says “he’s a rough-and ready sea-faring type with a weathered face and strong presence,” and will film in the week of December 11. Lastly, there are two guards up for casting. Guard #1 is a physically fit 20-something, who can fight, and will film in the first week of December. Guard #2 is a tall, athletic 30-something. It is a one line part but the character will share the screen with the leads. The role will film on November 1 and 2 in Spain, which means that we will see some of Spain in Season 8. No other details are known, other than the fact that Guard #2 will be played by a white man.
We expect more details as time passes, and certainly a lot more as fliming begins next month. Stay tuned, and talk to us in the comments, down below!
