HBO is celebrating a decade of Game of Thrones as The Iron Anniversary. The month-long celebrations are currently underway. That being said, the television giant is gearing up to win back the audience it lost post-Game of Thrones era. House of The Dragon, currently the only prequel that is confirmed, is fast on its track for a premiere in 2022. The prequel show has reportedly started filming in Cornwall earlier this week.
Speculations began when a Warner Bros truck was seen at Cornwall. While further west, a set with a stone archway is being built. Several crew members were also spotted at different locations, as reported by Cornwall Live.
In Cornwall, locals today spotted lorries bearing the Warner Bros logo at Penhale Camp, near Holywell, Newquay. At Penhale, lorries with Warner Bros set lighting and rigging were seen, as well as several other vehicles including tractors and small off-roaders. Meanwhile, at St Michael’s Mount, crews of people could be seen building sets and up some scaffolding rigging film equipment.
However, it was reported in October 2020 that House of the Dragons would be filmed in the UK, at Leavesden Studios, which is owned by Warner Bros. Season 1 of House of The Dragon will have 10 episodes. According to some rumours, a total of 5 seasons have been planned each with 10 episodes.

Comic books own a massive fandom today, thanks to the various TV and movie adaptations we’ve seen in the past few decades. The superhero genre practically rules the entertainment industry right now, prime examples being MCU and DCEU. Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke has recently signed up for a role in Marvel’s Secret Invasion series. The actress is keen on exploring more comic book universes. She will now co-write a comic herself.
Clarke will write her first superhero comic book series M.O.M.: Mother of Madness from Image Comics this July. The former Mother of Dragons will now write about a mother who is also a superhero.
M.O.M.: Mother of Madness centres around Maya, who is described as an “under-the-weather scientist by day, over-the-top superhero by night, and badass single mom 24/7.” Each issue of the series will be extra-length. The series depicts Maya using her superpowers to take on a secret sect of human traffickers.
“We’re always calling mothers superheroes, and I’m like, what if they were? What if they legitimately were superheroes?” the Game of Thrones star tells Entertainment Weekly. “Maya has had a very hard life, and she finds herself in a place where everything that makes her unique, she hates and is ashamed about. It’s only in the discovery of her powers that she finds her true acceptance of who she is.”
