In both House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones, the advice given to leaders by their councils plays a critical role. For instance, in Game of Thrones, Tyrion Lannister advised Daenerys Targaryen not to attack King’s Landing. However, Daenerys ignored this counsel, flew to the city, and unleashed her fury, burning it down.

A similar situation unfolds in House of the Dragon. Aegon II was advised not to take action, yet he flew to the Battle of Rook’s Rest. He and his dragon Sunfyre fought fiercely against Meleys before Aemond joined and attacked them both.
