The second episode of House of the Dragon Season 2 has arrived. The narrative of vengeance deepens as the conflict unfolds on two fronts – the battlefields and the shadowy world of assassins. In the previous episode, we witnessed Daemon fulfilling his grim vow of “taking a son for a son.”. And following the trend of Game of Thrones, this episode was full of tragedies as well.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 2 veers slightly off the source material

Though mostly sticking to the source material, House of the Dragon takes many creative liberties of its own. For example, in Fire and Blood, the Flea Bottom denizens riot when the Greens take Jaehaerys’ body out for the funeral procession. That does not happen in the episode. Aemond never confesses in Fire & Blood that killing Luke was a mistake. He does so, though in secret, in House of the Dragon. Moreover, there is no mention of Erryk committing suicide, unlike the show, after the Cargyllbowl.
