“I can’t wait to turn him gray”: Ewan Mitchell says Aemond loses some of his darkness in House of the Dragon Season 2
A certain character and the energy they evoke on screen seem to be calling to certain performers. As for Aemond Targaryen in House of the Dragon, well, there isn’t a greater performer than Ewan Mitchell who can portray the role. He distinguishes himself from the others in the role by bringing a dark edge. However, it seems like he’ll lose a bit of that edge in Season 2.
Aemond won’t be as dark in House of the Dragon Season 2
Aemond Targaryen is known to be stoic and stern, a fearsome warrior who gets what he wants. He is the reason why the civil war kicks off. In an interview with Esquire magazine, Mitchell revealed his character will see a change in season 2. He said, “In the last three episodes of season 1, I presented a character that was entirely black. In season 2, I can’t wait to turn him gray.”
King Aegon will show his true colors in Season 2
King Aegon II Targaryen will be one of the focal points in House of the Dragon Season 2. And he will be unhinged this season after suffering a major loss. In an interview with Esquire, actor Tom Glynn-Carney explained, “He comes into his own as an unpredictable live wire. He’s intensely ambitious and incapable of pursuing the things he sets for himself.”
