Many people believe the fan-favorite character Nettles might have been cut from House of the Dragon. This news disappointed many fans, but some still hold out hope. When actress Thuso Mbedu showed up at the House of the Dragon premiere, many suspected she was Nettles. However, Mbedu denied it. The speculation around Nettles in House of the Dragon

Back in 2022, leaked set photos showed an actress who looked like Nettles alongside Hugh Hammer and other dragonseeds. Thuso Mbedu’s appearance at the House of the Dragon premiere sparked speculation about her playing Nettles. However, Mbedu denied the claims, saying she attended the premiere to support Fabien Frankel, with whom she co-starred in The Woman King.

Showrunner Ryan Condal also refused to comment on Nettles’ appearance. Writer Sara Hess mentioned that many characters would be cut due to time constraints. Many believed Nettles’ character would be merged with Rhaena’s, with Rhaena riding the dragon Sheepstealer, whom Nettles rode in the book. Despite this, many fans still hope, citing reasons why Nettles is essential in both Fire and Blood and House of the Dragon.

Mbedu’s Instagram post sparks speculation about Nettles

Recently, Thuso Mbedu shared an Instagram story that roused fans’ suspicions. X account The Dragon Demands posted about it, suggesting it might indicate her role in the show.

The post seemed to reference Mbedu’s appearance at the House of the Dragon premiere. Many people replied to this account with varied opinions. To add fire to the flames, Mbedu replied to a tweet referencing the post, assuring fans she would not appear.

However, actors making false claims about their roles due to spoilers is not new. Due to this, people still hold out hope. The truth about Thuso Mbedu’s role in House of the Dragon will only be known when the season ends or perhaps by season 3. Until then, fans will continue to speculate and hope for Nettles’ appearance in the show.
