The second season of House of the Dragon has concluded, and anticipation is building for the upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, adapted from George R.R. Martin‘s Dunk & Egg novels, has completed filming. Following months of clandestine production, we have another look at the set, this time by Martin himself.

George R.R. Martin embarked on a European tour during the summer, making a stop in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which is known for being a filming location for Game of Thrones and its spinoffs. Martin showed off some behind-the-scenes images from the set:

The first episode of both House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones had important tourneys, and most probably, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will follow that tradition. This tourney set is the first one Martin visited on his tour.

The Game of Thrones author also shared a picture with Peter Claffey (Ser Duncan) in costume, and readers of Martin’s Dunk and Egg series will quickly be able to identify the sigil on the shield he is wearing. The sigil belongs to Ser Arlan of Pennytree, a hedge knight and the master of Dunk, and will be played by Danny Webb in the series.

Martin also got to witness a scene from his book where Dunk first encounters the Fossoway cousins — Ser Steffon (Edward Ashley) and his squire Raymun (Shaun Thomas).
