Olivia Cooke shares her thoughts on that unexpected kiss between Rhaenyra and Mysaria
Olivia Cooke loved that kissing between Rhaenyra and Mysaria, just like fans. However, she has a different reason to love that scene than most of the fans.
Alicent has complicated relationships with both Sir Criston Cole and Rhaenyra Targaryen. And while Olivia Cooke, the actress playing Alicent, spoke at length about various aspects of the relationship with Sir Criston Cole previously, this is the first time ever that she has spoken about that much-talked-about kissing scene between Rhaenyra and Mysaria in episode 6.

“It was so amazing…,” says Olivia Cooke about the kissing scene
House of the Dragon Season 2 episode 6 has lots of surprising moments, but what nobody expected to happen was that kissing scene towards the end of the episode. Director Andrij Parekh said in an interview that it’s one of the challenging scenes to make that feel real. The effort came off well, as viewers as well as actress Olivia Cooke loved the kiss between Rhaeyra and Mysaria.
It wasn’t just a passing remark from Olivia Cooke. In addition to praising that scene, she also explained why she thought the scene was “amazing”. According to her, that scene depicted the human desire for physical comfort and emotional support in challenging circumstances like war. And that’s what she loved about it.
“It was so amazing to see the kiss between Rhenaeya and Mysaria. I thought it was so beautiful, tender, and wanting. That need to be held was so human against the backdrop of propriety and the war,” Olivia Cooke said in an interview with Time.
We might see an epic battle in the Season 2 finale next week
The episode 7 ending shows that both Team Black and Team Green are gearing up for an epic battle. Not only that, but the teaser of the season finale also suggests that viewers will get to see some brutal battle scenes. The final episode in Season 2 premiers next Sunday at 9 P.M. ET on HBO and Max.
